Behind the beans
Our Colombian Decaf is a superb decaf coffee sourced from the provinces of Hulia and Tolima. The "sugarcane" decaf method uses natural elements such as high mountain spring water and Ethyl Acetate, a by-product of sugar cane processing, to gently extract the caffeine. Roasted carefully to a medium level which brings out delicious notes of citrus, malt and black tea.
Origin: Colombia
The process begins by steaming the beans to open their pores, followed by rinsing with Ethyl-Acetate repeatedly to remove caffeine. The beans are then dried to a 10-12% humidity and sealed with a natural wax to preserve its natural flavour and aroma of citrus fruit, malt and black tea.
