Behind the beans
For those who crave their coffee a little bolder and richer we’ve created Dark Horse. By combining speciality grade, altitude grown, washed coffees, Dark Horse delivers flavours of dark chocolate, spices and sweet brown sugar with a super clean finish.
Origin: Hulia, Colombia
The Colombia coffee in this blend is grown in the Huila region. Coffee cherries are expertly sorted, pulped, and fermented for 8-14 hours before drying to 10-12% moisture, typically this is all accomplished on the farm before going to dry mills and quality control labs.

Origin: Limu, East Welega, Ethiopia
In the Limu region of Ethiopia, small farmers grow their Heirloom varietal in gardens surrounding centralised washing stations. Washed or "fully washed" processing removes the outer skin of harvested cherries, leaving parchment coffee covered in mucilage. Beans are immersed in water in cement fermentation tanks, then dried on raised African drying beds.

Origin: Karnataka, India
Indian farmers in Karnataka intercrop coffee with pepper and cardamom, allowing them to balance their cashflow, help sustain the unique biodiversity of the region and promotes socio-economic development in the remote, hilly areas. This coffee is processed as soon as it arrives at the washing station.
