Behind the beans
Part of the Forager Series, Kagumo is a snapshot of Kirinyaga at full volume. In the foothills of Mount Kenya, over 1,500 smallholder farmers pick cherries from tiny garden plots. Here, altitude does the slow work — cooler nights, rich volcanic soils, and steady rain stretching the ripening cycle. The result? Denser cherries. Sharper acidity. Bigger flavour. Once harvested, the coffee is carefully washed and dried to lock in clarity and structure. No shortcuts. Just patient processing and obsessive sorting. Roasted in small batches here at our roastery in Northamptonshire, we keep it light enough to let the origin speak — vivid fruit, floral lift, and a clean, almost tea-like finish. This is Kenya in high definition.
This is a high-grown Kirinyaga lot built for clarity and brightness. Clean structure, loud fruit, and that unmistakable Kenyan snap. If you chase vibrant filter coffees, Kagumo delivers.

Kagumo comes from a network of smallholder producers in Kirinyaga County, where coffee grows alongside bananas, maize, and everyday life. Most farms are less than a hectare — family-run, hand-picked, and deeply rooted in place.
Every delivery is a collective effort: thousands of careful picks, sorted and processed together to create something far bigger than any one farm.
